What is a portion size?

The recommended portion size depends on your child’s age. A portion would be what fits in the palm of their hand so for example 1 portion for a toddler would be much smaller than that for a teenager.

How many should I eat?

The recommendation is 5 portions of fruit and vegetables altogether per day

Which colour of fruit and vegetables are the best?

It is best to try and eat a range a colours as they will provide different amounts of vitamins and minerals. Children often like the term “eat a rainbow” to visualise different colours of fruit and vegetables.
